SALT / HINOKI
Extrait de Parfum
A beautiful incense: cold, metallic, sharp, transparent, glassy. Predominant Hinoki note, a wood used to build temple roofs in Japan and which is considered a sacred wood. Beyond the historical note, hinoki gives the perfume a camphor, earthy character, which is that very same one you breathe on the hills around Atri village.
Standing there, one can smell the salt coming from the sea and reaching through the hills to the alleys of the village of Atri, located more than 400 meters above the level of the Adriatic Sea. The soul of Nox dances in the shadows and over the ancient village, illuminated by the moon and the glow of lanterns, the rich and balsamic notes of precious woods, bathed in a floral and salty accord, whisper in the night breeze. As it sits, the scent evolves into a sweeter and more quiet bottom.
Nox
Nox means night. The beauty of the village wrapped in darkness with its centuries-old secrets is the inspiration of the olfactory combination of this parfum. You can sense the smell of salt that comes from the sea and reaches, through the hills, the alleys of the village.
Inspiration: dance in the solstice.
"In the countryside, the witches illuminate the darkness of the winter solstice night. With their dances and rituals, they fill the silence atop the hill—bells on their ankles, drums, and laughter. Young women, their loose hair capturing the scent of the watchful sea and the salt in the air. With their bare feet, they spread the bitter scent of the grass on the hills of the village of Atri. The witches conclude their ceremony; the drums and bells fade into the night, the laughter and chants cease, and only silence remains. A balsamic, mineral aroma lingers, bathed in flowers and salt under the watchful moon, sweet and serene. Nox, which means "night" in Latin, is a tribute to a magical night, full of beliefs and shadows, opening with sharp hinoki wood and softening into a sweet, salty whisper".
